My Little Prayers For Daddy And Mommy - a short story by A.B.King

Once upon a time there lived a nice little Christian boy named Simeon. He loved the Lord a lot and he was trained right in the ways of the Lord by his Mummy & Daddy who loved the Lord dearly too.   Simeon had the wonderful habit of praying regularly outside of the general family prayer time which they had every morning right after their morning daily devotional reading. When Simeon would pray, he would always say his little prayers for Mummy and Daddy. One time, he prayed that God would keep them safe as he always prayed but that day Mummy and Daddy had forgotten to pray themselves, they only read the daily devotional but they had just too many activities lined up for their day that made them just too busy to pray or so it seemed.   On that day, when Mummy and Daddy were driving to an important appointment, Daddy skipped the red light. He was so worried about being late for his appointment that he didn’t see the big brown truck coming from the other side. He and Mummy was destined to be squashed but because of little Simeon’s prayer of protection over Mummy and Daddy, God already had an angel on stand by following Mummy and Daddy every where they went.   The angel acted quickly and the big brown truck missed Mummy and Daddy by an inch. Also, there was the time that Daddy had a big nemesis in the office that wanted his job.Daddy’s nemesis set a trap for Daddy so that Daddy would fall in it and fall our of favor with his boss but because of little Simeon’s prayer of success for Mummy and Daddy, God sent his angels to turn around what the enemy meant for evil and turn it to good.   Daddy ended up getting a promotion instead.   Also, there was the time that Mummy had a business idea she proposed before her boss at work that her boss turned down. But because of little Simeon’s prayer of prosperity for Mummy and Daddy, Mummy felt compelled to go to the bank and ask for a loan to start her own business based on her new idea even though she didn’t leave her job.   However, today she had left that job and she doesn’t need to work anymore because her idea turned into a multi-million dollar company. They now had to move out of the sub – urban neighborhood they lived in and moved into a mansion they bought on a street where the really really rich people lived, all thanks to little Simeon’s prayers.   The interesting thing is that little Simeon didn’t know that all these things happened as a result of his prayers.   The fact that God does not give us a list of all the evil our little prayers evade and all the good our little prayers create doesn’t mean that nothing is happening.   It’s quite wonderful to know that sometimes even though we don’t know what is happening in the realm of the spirit or about all the problems that our little prayers saved us from so much so that we didn’t even see a small part of the mountainous problem that was in our way because when we were still far away when we prayed and God uprooted the mountain from our way and cast it into the sea.
The End.
