Never Laugh At Mummy and Daddy - a short story by A.B.King

Once upon a time in a country called Nigeria there lived two kids in a very comfortable home.Megan was 12 years old and Peter her brother was also 12 years old. Their parents were uneducated but had managed to make a comfortable living with their farm, their poultry and the small restaurant they owned. Although they didn’t have the opportunity to go to school themselves when they were kids, they could afford to send their kids to school and they gladly did. Sadly, now that they kids where learning proper english and now better knew how to construct sentences, they now could point out all the errors their parents were making when speaking English language.   Megan and Peter soon found themselves correcting and laughing at their parents. They weren’t correcting their parents in love but they were correcting their parents only because of how hilarious the sentences their parents made now sounded to them.   This when on and on and on. now Their parents didn’t know how to tell them kids that what they did really hurt them maybe because they were so ashamed of themselves. All the while they are all Christians in name alone but not from the heart and all go to church together as one happy family every Sunday.   One Sunday morning, a guest preacher delivered a powerful sermon about salvation and a lot of people answered the altar call including Megan, Peter and their parents.   It was a truly remarkable day.   However, the very next day Peter returned to his usual way of live and it was as though when you give your life to Christ nothing really happens. But as for Megan, the case was different. She turned her life around and decided to live for Jesus. When she said a prayer now it wasn’t just some religious ceremony to her, she was talking with the one for whom she lived for.Megan started reading books to find out more about the new life she had in Christ. The bible itself became more than just a big fat book of rules for her but it became a mirror which not only told her who she was but what God’s plan for her was also and in what direction she should be heading.   One of the many things that Megan repented from is making fun of her parents for not speaking good english. She automatically had more compassion for people and was more sensitive to people. She now cared more about people and as she had received the Holy Ghost, the love of God was shared aboard on her heart. A thing like making fun of her parent’s bad grammar which she was not sensitive to before, was now something that she knew that even that though her parents didn’t say anything about it, it hurt them deeply.   Megan apologized to her parents about it and stopped making fun of them whenever they spoke english wrongly.   Peter on the other hand, continued. Megan warned him to stop saying that we should honor our father and mother, and that it’s not nice to make fun of people. But Peter just laughed at Megan and said that she was being silly that he is just having some harmless fun, that what he is going does not count as dishonoring your father and mother.   Peter continued making fun of his parents anytime he heard them using bad grammar right up to day he finished his schooling and graduated from college.   Peter went to look for a job right after graduation and he got an opportunity to be interviewed for his dream job.   When the interviewer saw Peter’s resume and his degree from the prestigious college that he had attended and performed marvelously well in. The interviewer was pleased beyond words and felt this had to be the guy that he has to hire. He stretched out his hand and told Peter that he was hired.   Peter was overjoyed. He went home that day and celebrated with his friends.   The next day, Peter showed up for work. The person who interviewed him came out to meet him and told him that they are sorry that they can’t hire him. He said that his boss saw Peter’s name as the person they hired and told them to look for another person for the job. The Boss said that he used to eat regularly at the small restaurant that Peter’s parents owned and that he would often hear Peter making fun of his parents. The Boss said that if Peter cannot respect his parents’ authority then there is no chance that he would be able to respect his Boss’ authority and he would therefore make a very bad employee no matter how qualified and educated for the job he is.
The End.

The Body Inside Your Body Is Not Your Body - a poem by Alfred

They say, every woman has the Right to do what she likes with her body/
But the Body inside your Body is not your body/
A baby is not the Mother, And the Mother is not the baby/
A Bentley is not the Driver, And the Driver is not the Bentley/
Your baby is not you, It's just Parked in your Body/
But if your Baby is your body, Why Abort your own body/
Let's not rename Murder, in other to commit Murder/
Let's not rename Genocide, and call it Parental Planning/
Or Planned Parenthood or Family Planning/
What kind of Parental Plan suggests killing the family?/
How can you be Pro-Choice by robbing the baby's choice?/
The decision to Live or Die belongs to the Life involved/
How dare you choose Death without hearing the Baby's voice/
The Pro-Choice movement is Anti-Choice/

Rather Than Hate The Rich, Become Rich - a poem by Alfred

Crucify the Rich, Burn them at the Stake/
Punish them for succeeding, where the rest of us has failed/
Their Remote controls the State like the TV channels they made/
Only 1 per cent are safe, 99 per cent are slaves/
Occupy the 1 per cent, Hello to Project Eliminate/
We don't need rich people in the world, walk 'em to their grave/
Like Marie Antoinette, and then We Would Eat Cake/
All Rich People are Evil, Greedy, and Really Vain/
Away with Rich people, Let us dig their graves/
They plan to dig ours, I can see it in their ways/
Who needs the Rich to build Banks, Skyscrapers, and Planes/
Who needs the Rich to build Rockets to take us to Outer Space/
Wealth can't create more jobs than poverty makes/
Poverty is what this country needs, take wealth away/
Destroy the Rich to make the world a better place/
I hate Rich people, even though I work all day/
I'm sure it's no so I could be Rich some day/
And if I get Rich I would give it all away/
Because I hate Riches, I'…
