Choose Long Term Happiness Over Short Term Pleasure - Motivation & Inspiration - by Alfred

Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

    Life is all about choices.
Everybody's life today is a result of the choices they made yesterday.
God has given every man the ability to choose between right and wrong; life and death; blessing and cursing.
God is not a tyrant or a dictator. He has given everyone the freedom to do anything in the world they want. They can even choose to do wrong.
However, God is a fair God therefore there are consequences if you choose to do wrong. God in his kindness also warns you that there would be consequences if you do wrong for whatsoever a man sows he shall also reap. So God recommends to choose to do what's right and have the blessings that would follow that choice.
This means that you can choose your own destiny, even though God has a preordained plan and destiny for you.
This is dangerous. Now this is not about choosing "Death" or choosing to do something bad, it's about doing what Jonah did. It's about leaving God's plan for your life and going to do your own thing (which may even be a positive and even world changing thing. However, it is not what God wants you to do).
God may want you to be a Business man, however you can go and become a Chef working in another man's Business. That's Dangerous.
What you're doing (cooking food in this case) is not a sin. However, God had bigger and better plans for you elsewhere.
Some people are so obsessed with jumping on every opportunity they see.
The fact that a door of opportunity just opens up beside you doesn't mean you have to work through it.
Be patient. Stick to God's plan for your life that you and the Holy Ghost are working together to get you closer to. Don't end up sacrificing your long term happiness for short term pleasure.

Our Boys In Blue - a poem by Alfred

Through Cold or Heat, Through Strength or Pain/
They Carry our Troubles, All Night, All Day/
They Risk their Future, To Keep us Safe/
Have you said a Prayer, For a Cop today?/
Without Police, No one would be Safe/
Bodies would paint the Street like Syria Today/
After the West played Chess and won the Game/
Have you said a Prayer, For a Cop today?/
Without Police in America, today/
Your Head and Your Body could be in different States/
One Part in Alabama, The Other part Up-State/
Have you said a Prayer, For a Cop today?/
We owe our Lives to Our Boys In Blue/
They carry the weight of the Red, White, and Blue/
And make it a Nation all Nations come to/
Have you said Thanks, To a Cop today?/

Madiba Says - a poem by Alfred

Success awaits every man at the top of the hill/
But after she shakes your hands, you see another hill/
New hills grow taller if you pause to sleep/
Success has feet, she can just get up and leave/
A Real Leader must love this people more than he loves himself/
And be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for them/
He must be dead to self, and live for them/
Otherwise he might ruin them while saving himself/
Freedom doesn't mean having no chains on your wrists/
It struts forward to mean liberating others wrists/
So if you don't liberate others you're imprisoned yourself/
The walls are invisible but they are still there/
Education is the most powerful W.M.D/
To destroy the destruction of humanity/
Don't judge me by conquered Mountain Tops/
Judge me by the times I fell and got back up/

The Quotes By Nelson Mandela That Inspired This Poem:
1)  After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb.
2)  Real leaders must be ready to sacrifice …
