Does God Punish People With Sickness Sometimes When They Commit Disgusting Sins? - What I Learned From Kenneth & Gloria Copeland's Daily Devotional For Today - 16th January 2017 - A Review By A.B.King

Matthew 10:7-8 KJV
And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. [8] Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

In today's devotional, Pastor Kenneth Copeland stressed that diseases do not come from God.
This is something that many people have once believed and even preached but started to get debunked many many years ago in the tent meeting days of Graham, Oral Roberts, T.L & Daisy Osborne, Kathryn Kulman and all the great healing ministers of that era.
Sadly, there are still people who believe today that sickness is from God.
     Well, it isn't.
Although it wasn't talked about in today's devotional. Sometimes sicknesses and diseases have been seen as punishment from God especially in the Old Testament.
However, the truth is it is disobedience to God that brought their sickness or disease in those cases, not God. I hope you can understand the difference. It is their disobedience that gave them the disease not God.

Note that disobedience to God is not the cause of all diseases, but sometimes it is the cause. And the array of diseases is not limited to certain diseases (like leprosy was normally the case in the Old Testament). It could be any disease.

    It is written:

Ecclesiastes 10:8 KJV
He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.

So sin is an invitation for Satan to mess around with your life, and Satan might bring a few diseases as he comes along.

My Prayer For You:

I pray that you stay away from sin, and that if you sin you don't drown yourself in guilt but ask God for forgiveness knowing he is a loving and forgiving God. However, I also pray that you do not try to take advantage of God's forgiving nature because such tomfoolery always ends badly.
