Why Doesn't God Help Me When I Need Him To? - What I Learned From Kenneth & Gloria Copeland's Daily Devotional For Today - 13th January 2017 - A Review By A.B.King

Psalm 91:14-15 KJV
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. [15] He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

In today's devotional, Pastor Gloria Copeland talks about the common phenomenon of people running to God only in times of trouble, but when everything is Ok they go back to being lukewarm or even worse.

Pastor Gloria Copeland pointed out one very important danger of this:
When someone is that way they wouldn't have enough faith or confidence in God when they run to God in time of trouble because they don't know God. They never fellowshipped with God. They were in the world. They never took out time to fellowship with the Word and build their Faith strong when there was no storm so when the storm comes they can stand.

    They are strangers to God.

God responds to us according to our Faith not according to our need.
So the fact that you run to God in time of your need won't help you.

You need to have the Faith and confidence that comes with fellowship with God and with God Word; which you neglected when there was to trouble (which happens to be the right time to get it).

My Prayer For You:

I pray that you stay with God at all times, during good times and during trouble times. I pray that you wouldn't ease up on your walk with God when everything is Ok, but you maintain an increasing fervour, devotion, and hunger for the things of God at all times. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Further Study:

Psalm 108:1-6 KJV
O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. [2] Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. [3] I will praise thee, O Lord , among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. [4] For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds. [5] Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth; [6] That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me.
